A Block Panchayat is a body of elected representatives of the people to administer the affairs of the Panchayat Raj institutions. In the case of a Block Panchayat, it is the main body that implements decisions and carries out day-to-day administration.The main components of a Block Panchayat are:President: He is the head of the Block Panchayat. He presides over the meetings and supervises the overall activities of the Block Panchayat.Vice President: He assumes the responsibilities in the absence of the President.Ward Members: Representatives elected from each ward of the Block Panchayat,Standing Committees: These are sub-committees formed to facilitate decision-making, such as finance, development, welfare, health, education, etc.
